An acquaintance of mine runs a British specialty shop, but dabbles in other things and cares for a couple of collections. This gem is part of one of them. It’s a 1933 Auburn boattail speedster, and it’s a thing of beauty to behold.
Since we’re the unwashed, huddled masses, yearning to be free, I thought we could stand a bit of classing up by the machinery of our upperclass twits oppressors. Enjoy this gentrified steed, bask in its opulence, and get back to work, ye filthy dogs, for we are not worthy.
A study in scale. The Mini has a much, much, much larger cockpit
That’s a Traction Avant hiding behind this beast.
Oh and some other stuff. There’s a 308GTS hiding between the E-type and other 120 in the back.

Might the red mini be a late model, Mk VI or Mk VII?

So much Englishness in the background cars my cornea detached and became a monocle.
CaptDale - is secretly British

You need to tell me when you’re going over there. That’s my favorite place to drool

I didn’t look at it closely, actually. I might go gawp at the Auburn again tomorrow, I’ll take a look then. I had a Mk1 for a bit.

it pipped my curiosity as that front valance makes it look a little shoddy amongst the other cars.
I started with a ‘67 Mk I Austin Mini and finished with a ‘98 Mk VII Rover Mini, provided the family a decade of mindless entertainment until the lack of practical use had it voted out of the household.

Nice! Mine was a ‘67 Austin 1275 S, foolishly sold. It wouldn’t surprise me if the red one is a later car, I’ve seen at least a couple of them around masquerading as MkIIIs, though they’re not supposed to be here.

Well, it’s a good thing you have a British mechanic friend for when you’re a BGT owner *COUGH COUGH*
Any updates on that?

It’s still available, gnawing at me, but responsibility is taking precedence at the moment. I may still, but there’s an E28 also calling to me which makes much more sense.
